Our Story: From Flowers to Farmstays
Every farm has a story.
Some are measured in generations. Others are measured in seasons.
For Maple Valley Farm, our story is a little bit of both.
Nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Maple Valley Farm has long been a place of beauty, peace, and hard work. But the chapter that visitors experience today began just a few years ago when Jacob and Justin Timmons decided to follow a dream that combined their love of nature, community, and simple country living.
Three years ago, Justin and Jacob launched Maple Valley Farm's cut-flower business. Together, they began growing beautiful flowers, focusing on native Tennessee blooms alongside seasonal annual favorites. Their goal was simple: grow healthy, beautiful flowers without chemicals and share them with their community.
What started as a small flower-growing operation quickly blossomed into something more.
They sold bouquets and stems directly to the public at local farmers markets, partnered with area florists, and spent countless hours planting, tending, harvesting, and learning. Every season brought new challenges, new successes, and new opportunities to share the beauty of the farm with others.
As the flower business grew, life brought another opportunity.
After decades of operating S.D. Professionals, LLC, Jacob began transitioning his marketing and development company into a consulting-focused business as part of his retirement plans. The change allowed him more time to spend on the farm, focusing on the things that mattered most: family, nature, community, and creating meaningful experiences for others.
With more time spent in the valley, Jacob and Justin found themselves sharing the farm with friends and family who all seemed to say the same thing:
"There is something special about this place."
And they were right.
The farm has a way of slowing people down. The quiet mornings. The mountain views. The sounds of birds singing across the valley. The wildflowers blooming along the trails. The peaceful evenings spent watching the sunset disappear behind the ridges.
In a world that often feels rushed, loud, and overwhelming, Maple Valley Farm offered something many people were searching for….a safe space to rest.
That's when the idea for Maple Valley Farm Farmstays was born.
Jacob and Justin wanted people from all walks of life to experience the same peace and beauty they found here every day. They wanted families to reconnect. Couples to unwind. Friends to gather. Travelers to breathe a little deeper and sleep a little better.
Most importantly, they wanted everyone to feel welcome.
That's why Maple Valley Farm has always been, and will always remain, a safe space for all.
Regardless of where you come from, who you love, how you identify, or what your story may be, you are welcome here.
We believe kindness matters.
We believe hospitality should have no conditions.
And we believe everyone deserves a place where they can simply be themselves.
Today, Maple Valley Farm is more than a flower farm. It's more than a vacation rental. It's more than a business.
It's a place built on the belief that people need beauty, connection, and a safe, welcoming place to rest.
From the flowers that bloom in our fields to the guests who visit from around the world, every part of Maple Valley Farm reflects the values that brought us here in the first place: love, acceptance, hard work, and community.
Whether you're visiting for a weekend, walking our trails, sitting by a fire, watching wildlife from a porch, or simply enjoying the quiet of the valley, we hope you feel what we've always felt here.
A sense of peace.
A sense of belonging.
A sense of home.
Because everyone deserves a place to feel at home.
